Good E-Bike Purchase
i purchased this bike for my petite wife on amazon. it was about $933 in january with an extended warranty from amazon (not anymore). my wife likes it a lot but I've ridden it more than she has as it is kept up at our Sierra home and shes not here often to ride.
I'm a mountain biker with 40 years experience riding and racing. the problems I found were that I'm 5'11" and its too short seat to bars, I can't move the seat back anymore. also, I weight 180lbs. and the seatpost quick release will NOT tighten enough. the post turns and can sink into the the seat tube. I don't like the stem being so vertical, it should angle back to the rider. the way it is configured it makes for very quick steering although my wife hasn't complained but she also has trouble making u-turns.
the battery seems to charge while coasting as the company says.
i use the throttle a lot when I don't want to pedal but it is not comfortable holding it for more than a few moments. Wish it could just stay set but be over rided by something.
the 3" tires are acceptable as suspension on most non-technical dirt and they worked great in a few inches of snow.
I'm currently searching for a 26" or bigger MTB E-Bike that can handle singletrack and rough terrain but would be legal on trails, paths, etc. so I can ride with my wife.
Oh, what I really dislike is the procedure for resetting the trip meter. I have to keep the directions handy as I haven't memorized the procedure.
