With a growing number of electric bike models catering to every type of rider, the e-bike industry is expanding rapidly. Many Eahora users are unfamiliar with our product details, so we’ve compiled this comprehensive FAQ collection covering the most common customer questions. Keep reading to get all the key information you need.
Battery & Charger
Q: I own a Juliet / Romeo Pro. The charger gets extremely hot during charging. Is this normal?
A: This is completely normal. The Romeo series is equipped with a large 60Ah battery, which requires a higher charging current. Its matched charger supports 5A / 8A output, while most regular e-bike chargers only deliver 2A or 3A for small-capacity batteries, so they run much cooler under light load.
Q: Can I upgrade the 48V 60Ah battery on my Juliet / Romeo Pro to a 52V 60Ah version?
A: We strongly advise against this upgrade. A 52V battery is electrically incompatible with the original 48V controller system. We also do not recommend modifying the entire 48V electronic control system to adapt to a 52V battery. 1. This modification will incur very high extra costs; 2. No official compatibility tests have been carried out, which may lead to complete vehicle failure or permanent burnout of the controller.
Q: Does the Eahora e-bike battery feature a built-in USB port?
A: No, our batteries do not come with a USB port.
Q: Are Eahora e-bike batteries UL certified?
A: Yes, all our batteries have passed UL certification, so you can use them safely without safety concerns.
Q: My Juliet / Romeo uses a factory 54.6V 5A charger. Can I swap it for a 54.6V 8A charger?
A: Upgrading to a 54.6V 8A charger is allowed. However, a 58.8V 8A charger cannot replace the original 54.6V 5A / 8A charger.
Q: It takes around 9 hours to fully charge my Juliet / Romeo series bike. Is this expected?
A: This is normal. Thanks to the large 60Ah battery capacity, the full charging time naturally lengthens. The standard full charge time for these models ranges from 8 to 10 hours.
Q: What cell materials are used inside the Juliet, Juliet II and Romeo Pro batteries?
A: These models use lithium polymer batteries, which offer higher safety than traditional liquid lithium-ion cells. Lithium polymer cells adopt solid polymer electrolyte instead of liquid electrolyte. This structural design eliminates liquid leakage risks. Even if the battery casing is damaged, fire or thermal runaway probability is greatly reduced. Meanwhile, polymer batteries boast higher energy conversion efficiency, delivering stable continuous power output and effectively extending the overall service life of the e-bike.
Motor
Q: Can I upgrade the motor on my standard Romeo to the 1200W unit used on Romeo Pro?
A: We do not recommend this modification. It will likely cause the bike to malfunction and may damage the original controller. We also refuse suggestions to rework the controller to match the higher-power motor: our engineering team has not validated this solution, and the transformation cost will be very high.
Q: Can I install an extra motor on my Juliet / Romeo / Cupid to boost torque and top speed?
A: Not recommended. The actual speed improvement will be negligible after modification, and there is no guarantee of compatibility with the factory electronic control system.
Q: Can I charge the e-bike via solar panels or a portable generator?
A: Yes, this charging method is supported.
Q: My motor is broken. What is the replacement procedure?
A: You first need to remove the rear wheel and freewheel, then proceed with motor replacement. Refer to the linked tutorial videos below:
Speed
Q: The speed reading on my Juliet / Romeo display is abnormal; it even showed 106 mph once while riding.
A: The mismatched speed sensor magnet parameter is the usual cause. Try setting the speed magnet value to 6 to recalibrate.
Q: My Romeo Pro / Juliet II cannot reach the advertised top speed, and it cannot even exceed 20 mph.
A: These models use the B04U display. Long press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously to enter the Info menu, then locate the Speed Limit option to adjust the speed restriction value.
Q: I want to raise the top speed of my Juliet / Romeo and remove the speed limiter. How to operate?
A: Equipped with the 81F display, you can adjust the P6 parameter to lift the speed limit.
Q: Can I individually set different maximum speeds for PAS 1 to PAS 5 levels on my Romeo Pro?
A: Independent speed adjustment for each PAS level is unavailable. You can only modify the global overall speed value, which will synchronously increase or decrease the speed of all 5 assist levels.
Q: My Cupid will not go over 23 mph once battery level drops below 40%. Is this normal? Can I cancel this speed limit?
A: This is a normal low-battery protection logic. The system reduces speed automatically when the remaining power is insufficient to protect the battery pack. You can set parameter P22 to 254 to disable this restriction.
Display
Q: My Juliet II / Romeo Pro display asks for a password on startup. What is the factory default password?
A: The B04U display fitted on these two models uses the default password: 0000.
Q: How do I pair my smartphone to the display via Bluetooth? Is there an Android version of the app?
A: Download the BIKEGO mobile app, scan the QR code on the display to complete Bluetooth pairing. The app fully supports Android devices, no compatibility issues exist.
Q: How do I turn off cruise control on Juliet / Romeo?
A: Long press the "+" button to open the Information page. Cruise mode activates automatically after holding the throttle steady for 10 seconds. Short press the "+" button once to exit cruise control.
Q: How do I enter the Info menu on the Juliet II / Romeo Pro display?
A: Long press the "+" and "-" buttons at the same time to access the Info interface.
Q: Where is the USB port on the Romeo Pro display? Can it charge my phone?
A: The Type-C USB port sits at the bottom edge of the display and supports phone charging. You need to prepare your own matching Type-C cable.
Q: My Juliet display freezes on the P10 parameter page. How to fix it?
A: The display has entered lock mode. Follow the steps in this tutorial video to unlock it: Unlock P10
Q: Does the Cupid display USB port support phone charging?
A: Yes, it features a built-in Type-C charging port for mobile devices.
Q: Can I disable cruise control on the Cupid model?
A: Cruise control cannot be turned off on Cupid.
Q: How do I restore factory settings on the Cupid display? I cannot find this option.
A: The Cupid display does not have a one-click factory reset function. You can manually revert all parameters back to factory values by referencing the official manual: Cupid Display Manual
Q: Can I replace the original display with a third-party brand unit?
A: We strongly recommend sticking with the original factory display. Third-party displays are not guaranteed to be compatible; they may trigger system faults or even burn out other electrical components on the bike.
Front Light
Q: I cannot manually switch off the headlight on my Juliet / Romeo.
A: This is intentional design. The headlight acts as a daytime running light, which automatically turns off only when the display is powered down. Our engineering team added this safety design to prevent riders from forgetting to turn on lights while riding at dusk or night and causing accidents. The headlight uses low-power LED chips, and its power draw is negligible for the large 60Ah battery, so your riding range will not be noticeably affected.
Front Fork & Rear Suspension
Q: Is the front fork on the Juliet adjustable?
A: Juliet is equipped with two versions of front forks. Check whether there is an adjustment knob on the left side of the fork leg to confirm adjustability.
Q: Can I adjust the rear suspension on my Romeo Pro?
A: Yes, the rear shock absorber on Romeo Pro supports adjustment.
Seat & Handlebar
Q: Can I raise the seat height on Romeo / Romeo Pro?
A: The seat is fixed and non-adjustable in height.
Q: My handlebars are positioned too low. Is there a way to raise them?
A: The factory handlebar stem cannot be adjusted upward. You may purchase a handlebar riser adapter separately from Amazon for modification.
Brake
Q: My brand-new bike makes harsh squealing noises when braking. Do I need to replace the brake set immediately?
A: New brake rotors may have residual protective oil film on the surface, which causes squealing during initial braking. Wipe the rotor thoroughly with alcohol or diluted dish soap and a clean rag. The noise will disappear after a short break-in period. If the squeal persists long-term, replacement brake pads will be required.
Q: Hydraulic brake fluid is leaking out. What should I do?
A: A leaking hydraulic brake assembly needs full brake replacement.
Q: Pulling the brake lever all the way does not stop the bike. Do I need new hydraulic brakes?
A: Low mineral oil level inside the brake caliper often causes insufficient braking force. Try refilling the brake mineral oil first. If braking performance still fails to recover after refilling, replace the entire brake assembly.
Tyre
Q: What is the recommended tire PSI range for the Cupid?
A: - Summer inflation pressure: 28–30 PSI - Winter inflation pressure: 35–40 PSI Incorrect pressure will not directly cause a flat tire, but sticking to the recommended range extends tire service life and improves riding comfort. When inflating, align the alignment safety marks on both sides of the tire evenly. If you suffer a puncture or the inner tube bulges out during riding, stop immediately and visit a local bike repair shop to avoid riding injuries.
More General Questions
Q: Is there an assembly tutorial video for the Cupid Cargo Kit 6?
A: Cupid cargo kit 6 assembly video
Q: What is the official warranty period for Eahora e-bikes?
A: The whole bike enjoys a 1-year limited warranty. Certain wearing consumable parts only carry a 3–6 month warranty. Check the full warranty terms in the user manual via this download link: Download Manual
Q: Are Eahora e-bikes waterproof? Can I hose down and wash the bike directly?
A: You can wipe the frame and components with a damp cloth for cleaning. Direct high-pressure water washing is forbidden. The onboard electronic control modules are not fully waterproof. We also do not recommend long-term outdoor parking in heavy rain, which will accelerate electrical part corrosion and create safety hazards. If outdoor rain exposure is unavoidable, use a dedicated e-bike cover for protection.
Q: I want to purchase insurance for my bike. Where can I find the frame serial number?
A: The serial number is stamped on the head tube or bottom bracket shell of the frame. After receiving your new bike, take a photo of the serial number and store it safely on your phone or computer; it will be required for insurance registration or theft reporting.
Q: I have lost my bike keys. How to resolve this?
A: The lock cylinder is matched to the original key set. 1. If you still keep one spare key, visit a local hardware store to duplicate a new key; 2. If both keys are lost, you need to order a complete replacement lock and key set. If you cannot remove the battery due to key loss, you need to unlock the lock cylinder first to take out the battery before replacing the lock; local locksmith shops can provide unlocking service.
